Running OS Sequoia 15.0.1 on a Mac. Using Lightroom Classic 13.5.1

Hi. I cannot figure out how to save changes made to the length of a .mov file in Lightroom Classic so that I can then use HandBrake to compress the resulting file.

Is this possible in Lightroom? I thought I could do this until recently and now I don't know how to do it.

Thank you for any help with this.

It works the exact same way that it does for still images: Edits are applied as metadata, without disturbing the original, so to get an edited version, you export a copy.

So if you want to use the edited version of the video on the desktop for other apps like Handbrake to use, click the Export button in the Library module (or choose File > Export, same thing), and make sure you set up the Video export settings the way you want them.

It’s also the way Apple’s own QuickTime Player works. If I use its Trim command, the Save command doesn’t let me overwrite the original. I have to save or export a copy, and that copy will have the edits applied.

"set up the Video export settings the way you want them."

Note that LR doesn't provide presets for exporting in 2K or 4K, so it you want to preserve the higher resolutions of your exported videos, you'll need the Any Video Preset plugin.
