HP Omen Lightroom running so slow

Hi all

 

As above we have a HP Omen GT12-0184na and lightroom is running so slow and we cannot figure out why. It starts fine but within a few minutes it's dreadfully slow.

 

Specs of the PC seem to be far above the recommended specs for lightroom.

AMD RYZEN 9

NVIDIA GEFORCE 3060TI

16GB RAM

256GB SSD (C) & 2TB HDD (D)

 

So we're stuck, any advice please 🙏

Is your system up-to-date? Do you have installed all recent updates and patches for the operating system and the device drivers, especially the graphic driver. Please make also sure that you have installed the Studio version and not the Game Ready version of your NVidia driver.

 

Please provide a copy of your 'System Info'. This can be get from the LrC Help > System Info menu item. There's a copy button in the System Info dialog. Press this button and paste the info into your next forum post.

How do i find out what graphic driver I have? the HP OMEN was created as a gaming PC by HP so wouldnt surprise me if the game ready version is what we have. Please see below system info. Appreciate any advice.

As I see in you system info you do not use the recent version of the graphic driver.

Take a look here: NVIDIA Studio Driver | 546.33 | Windows 10 64-bit, Windows 11 | NVIDIA 

and download and install the latest version. Then check again.

Sorry for the late reply, still having the same issues, photoshop and lightroom running slow once editing starts on pictures, takes ages to apply changes n jst stalls like it's slowly processing the change.

Example was when trying to flatten the image,

It's slow when doing basically anything.. Opening from LR to Photoshop, zooming in and out, using any tools in photoshop, saving back to lightroom, pasting settings from one photo to another even scrolling through photos in lightroom.

Copying settings slow in LrC has been discussed in this forum. I don't know what the answer is, but I know it has been discussed. You should search for it. I believe that applying presets in LrC has also been discussed, and you should search for that as well.
