I have adobe lightroom classic creative cloud; my program recently on my screen without any adjustments on my part now has such large side panels that the actual photo size is much smaller and distorted in its dimensions; how do I restore the side panel size back to something smaller and reasonable?? I have already tried to use the mouse placing the pointer between the photo and the side panel and getting the horizontal arrow that points in both directions and trying to compress the side panel by that mechanism and it is still quite large.
One thing to try is to open the display settings in your Mac or Windows operating system, and make sure the display resolution is what you expect it to be. Unusually large Lightroom panels can be a side effect of the display getting changed to a lower resolution setting, intentionally or not.

You can resize the side panels by putting the cursor over the edge and drag it back.
Please show us a screen shot.

It worked for me. In scale and layout, my setting was on 150%. I changed it to 125%, restarted lightroom and it was perfect! Thank you!
