Hello, I have run into a problem with the lightroom classic app. I tried to start it and Im keep running into the same problem ''Lightroom Classic Catalog Upgrade (not responding). I tried to reinstall lightroom and the whole creative cloud as well as clear the cache and run a test for any damage on the memory card. Nothing works, can somebody help me?

The first thing that you should try is to switch off the GPU support from the Lightroom preferences and check if that helps to fix the issue.

Go to Lightroom > Preferences > Performance tab > Uncheck "Use Graphics Processor" > Restart Lightroom.

https://helpx.adobe.com/lightroom-classic/kb/troubleshoot-gpu.html

If Lightroom doesn't start correctly the please see "Solution 2" in the document behind the link below.

Troubleshoot GPU issues | Lightroom Classic (adobe.com)

Another step is to try to reset the Lightroom preferences.

https://www.lightroomqueen.com/how-do-i-reset-lightrooms-preferences/

It's recommended to backup your preferences before you reset the preferences to the default settings:

https://helpx.adobe.com/lightroom-classic/kb/preference-file-and-other-file-locations.html

The next step is to generate a new Lighroom catalog. Press and hold the Alt key (Option key on a Mac), then launch Lightroom. Keep the Option key pressed until a dialog appears with the option to create a new catalog. You can also try to restore a catalog from a backup.

If this doesn't help we need more informations about your environment.

Which operating system do you use?

Which version of Lightroom do you use?

Please post the exact version and not only phrases as "recent", "latest" and so on.

Please provide also a copy of your 'System Info'. This can be get from the LrC Help > System Info menu item. There's a copy button in the System Info dialog. Press this button and paste the info into your next forum post.

Do you get an error message? If yes, please post the exact message or an screenshot.

So I am not able to start Lightroom CC at all. To closer describe after I try to open the app I get a window saying ''Lightroom Classic Catalog Upgrade (not responding)'', and if I try to hold the ALT key it opens up the select catalog window which is also not responding. I tried ''solution 2'' as well as resetting the preferences and generating a new catalog. Nothing worked.

I use Windows 11 Home, Version 10.0.22621 Build 22621

I use Lightroom Classic, Version 12.2.1

I dont have a buffed-up PC but I never had this problem before or any other problem with LR CC and I am always using the same laptop which is Lenovo IdeaPad 5

System: Intel i5-1035G1 - 8GB - Intel UHD graphics

Photoshop 24.2.2 (which is starting normally no problem with that  so I assume there is something only not right with LR classic)

I'm having the exact same error, I deleted everything and reinstalled and nothing. I have even installed older version. Some times I can see the window with the error, and other it won't display anything but the program is showing in the Task Manager.

Is there any way to completely remove all the files from Lightroom Classic to start a fresh istall?

For a complete and clean reinstallation, please follow the steps below:

if you're unable to install the cc desktop app at this stage, use an administrator account (solution 4 here, https://helpx.adobe.com/creative-cloud/kb/creative-cloud-missing-damaged.html)
