I CAN´T IMPORT PHOTOS TO LIGHTROOM

I don´t know what happened. One day the workflow is workinf just fine, on the next day lightroom just won´t import photos from external divices, like my camera or external hardrive.

It only imports from the desktop, but this is not an option for me due to the large volume of photographs I need to work with.

I have already updated to the lastest version, restared the computer, and nothing.

What should I do?

Please, any sugestions?!!!!

No error message. The processe of importing photos seams to be going well,

import photos

window opens

select device - camera

select destination folder - external harddrive

select pictures

clique in IMPORT

the window closes and the photos should upload into lightroom, but they don´t.

the message of uploading keeps showing. I left for 20 min and not eone photo uploaded. 

Then I cancel importation. no error message.

Hardware info: 

3,2 GHz Intel Core i7 6-Core

32 gb

Intel UHD Graphics 630 1536 MB

Do small versions of the photos appear in the Import dialog box? Are they greyed out? Can you show us what you do see before you click on IMPORT and after you click on IMPORT?

now when canceling the import a message is showed:

lightroom was unnable to import because the files´s paths have backtracking

Can you give us the FULL exact unedited unchanged folder name where these photos are stored, and one of the exact unedited unchanged file names?

I'm having very similar issues, but my lightroom program just keeps crashing

So MACOS, Catalina or newer (in this case newer). Issue with external media.
