I cannot find a way to add a note or info to a picture?

Hi, perhaps I first need to say that I don't think that I'm stupid, at least that stupid, I think, and I'm not blind, as I look at my photos all the time on my Mac's screen ...  - - - Anyway, I don't find a way to add some note to myself so that I could remember later what things I found important considered for this particular photo. All comments appreciated, Tuomas

Not stupid or blind because the feature doesn't exist . Therefore, if you want to add notes, you'lll need to use a third party plugin such as Big Note

http://lightroomsolutions.com/plug-ins/big-note/

There may be other plugins that offer similar capability.

hmm, good point

So, I am also curious, and starting to study your post. Might need to get off my rear end and bring up my PC and experiment.

One possibility is the comment field. Typically that field when using just LrC is useless. It is actually meant to show comments from reviewers, typically on the cloud, making likes, and comments, that then get sync'd into your catalog. So one way would be to share in the cloud (ADOBE) and comment, yep extra work, extra steps for something that should be simple.

Another method might (this is where I need to get off my rear end) to bring up the caption field, and select to show large captains. this from:

(oh, to use large cations' navigate to the Library Module, select an image, and in the Metadata panel, switch the "Metadata Set" to "Large Caption" to access a larger text field for your captions)

Another way would be to use an external metadata editor, but this info would not be shown in LrC as you would likely filling out a field not shown in LrC (hmm or could that included comments?) And also, more work.

I am not one who uses Bridge, but I wonder if something in that could help.

Update, using large captions appears to work (in Captions field), although, now that I have tried that, I am not to sure, I could not have typed in all I wish, before selecting that.

If you do not want to use the Captions filed for this info, and if you do not mind using the Default Metadata set, You could scroll down to the bottom of the Metadata and select Custom, then you could add any field currently not selected, that you would like to use for this info, for example the field Additional Info. Mind you this filed may not appear in other Metadata sets such as EXIF and IPTC. (Third party plug-ins exist to view metadata by the way)

I like that reply by lan Lyons, I would give it a thumbs up but the community page appears to be a bit out of sorts today, clicking on Upvote appears to do nothing. That plugin Big-note looks like what will help you.
