The cause og the problem is that I need to import .orf files. I normally use Lightroom CC 2015.14 [1149743] under the Creative Cloud subscription. It appears to be updated, but it won't import or preview these files. The I tried to open Lightroom Classic 10.3 [20105281559-8dc50eb4] which I believe I haven't used before (or really noticed...) It chose the sama catalog as CC, but made a new version of it I think? Anyways, the list of files stops at 2017, and all the folders have question marks on them. I didn't dare to touch anything, simply closed it back down without backup'ing the catalog. I don't know the differences between CC and Classic, but I suppose both are good, and I won't mind using Classic instead if I get all my folders back. I really, really don't want to import and tag the last 4 years again. All other files are Canon raw files, and the majority of new ones will be too.
So to sum it up; I would like either to have CC open .orf or fix the catalog for Classic. Any advice in very plain english is highly appreciated, because all of this just confuses me wildly.
Lightroom CC2015 is the old name (and an old version) of Lightroom Classic. Just install Lightroom Classic, let it upgrade your catalog and you are good to go.
P.S. If you see question marks on your folders after an update, then read this:

Oh, and I get the feeling that CC 2015 is discontinued? It doesn't even show up as installed when looking at my list of applications. I tried to download what was called Lightroom. but it appeared to be the mobile version.

Thank you kindly! I had in fact done just what you said, but now I sat down in a quiet house, with plenty pf coffee, and actuelly looked at my catalogs. Turned out there was for some reason two versions of the right catalog, but one was a smaller file than the other. Opening the other one in Classic and allowing it to update brought everything back to normal. Importing my .orf files as I type this. Thanks again!
