For some reason it can not find my images. My images are usually kept on my desktop and all of sudden its saying 'no photos found'.

How do I fix this?

This screen capture shows the import dialog with the documents folder selected. LrC is not finding any photos in the documents folder that can be imported.

If your workflow is to put photos on your desktop and import from there I would recommend you get a book or take a class to learn how to best use LrC. Your workflow is not recommended.

You have not selected Desktop. You have selected on Documents. Of course it won't find photos on the Desktop that way.

Agreeing with @Theresa J , putting photos on your Desktop is not a good approach. Better to put them in a folder if you are going to do an ADD while importing.
