Import does not recognize duplicates (in LR 12.0.1)

Community Beginner ,

My setting: Ventura 13.0.1 (on M1 MacBook) and LR Classic 12.0.1

When I import *new* images from am iPhone, duplicates are not recognized if the the images were firstly imported with an earlier version of LR Classic (11.x). Yes, I checked the option "do not import duplicates".

I do not want to import my 10,000+ images from my iPhone again, what to do?

The import worked for me for all previous versions of LR, with an update to LR 12.0.1 it is broken...

Best regards,

Erik

Is the catalog created during the upgrade, the correct catalog, or did LrC upgrade the wrong old catalog?

Thanks for the quick response. My last import done with LrC11 is in the catalog created during the upgrade, so I believe LrC upgraded the right catalog.

I face exactly the same issue, except that for me not all old photos are not recognized as duplicates but only some of them. I did not see a pattern of which are recognized and which are not.
