Import from catalog fails. I have done this many times in the past with no issues.
Importing from a small catalog to a larger one fails on “scanning for masks”.
The progress bar did not move for several hours - stalled just before the “C” of cancel.
On cancelling the files had been imported.
As a test (suggested by adobe agent), I created a new empty catalog and imported the same file. No issue, imported normally as in many times in the past.
I had to re-import one folder from the smaller catalog (instead of the whole thing). Same issue. Same result.
Neither catalog contains LR masks.
It appears that the import is trying to scan the entire larger catalog for masks. Agent suggested that this is “normal”
This is completely unnecessary and a gross waste of time.
Both catalogs pass an “integrity check”.
"Expected result" is no need to scan entire catalog!"
