Import images to network drive

Product enhancement idea.  When importing an image allow the destination to be a network drive.  This is the same code that allows your to select the source form a network drive.  Optimally, LR would import to a temporary local directory first, generate the appropriate previews, then queue the image to be uploaded to the desired network drive.  Once LR calculates the SHA256, MD5 or checksum verification that the image uploaded corectly the images will be removed from the temporary local directory and the local catalog is updated. This will skip a step in a workflow of importing images locallly then draging the recently imported images to a network drive.

 

Added bonus points would allow inclusion of a connected VPN source.  Since some people use a personal VPN conected to their home NAS (tailspin, OpenVPN or other) when remote but with access to WiFi.

LR does allow you to select a folder on a network drive as the destination of an import.  Do your network drives not show up in the Destination panel of the Import window?
