You probably have either a Develop Preset selected in the Apply During Import section of Import, or have a custom Default Setup. For the first, hit Reset to remove. Next Import, make sure to set the Develop Preset to none. For the latter, hold down Alt/Option in Develop and Click Set Default and choose the Reset option (Edit: see my post below for corrected, updated, raw defaults information)
Thank you so much—it was the latter – I click on Adobe default and for the photos that I have imported with this preset, it removes corners in the individual photo that I have selected. I assume that all imports should be ok in the future since I have reset.
