Bonjour,

Bien cordialement

Michel

I moved all the items of the catalog from my hard drive of my Mac to a  cloud, I clicked on the file that allows me to open the catalog when it was in the cloud and it did not allow to start Lightroom, I tried again to open the same catalog that was still stored on the MAC and the impossible to launch the application. I ended up uninstalling LrC to reinstall LrC again, but the phenomenon persists and I am no longer able to reopen my Lightroom Classic on the Mac. I tried again with other catalogs that are located on an external hard drive, and I have the same problem.

The catalog cannot be in the cloud, it has to be on a local drive – internal or external.

Your photos cannot be in the cloud either, they can be on an internal or external drive, or a network drive.

Move everything back to where it was originally.

If you're running out of space on your internal drive, move your photos to an external drive.

LrC will then report the photos as missing, and you will need to reconnect them with LrC.

See https://www.lightroomqueen.com/lightroom-photos-missing-fix/

Do not import the photos again. It's the wrong thing to do, you will lose all your edits and other metadata.

Bonjour,

I moved the photos to a Mac hard drive in the same directory as the catalog. When I click on the last file, I start to open LrC with a brief passage of the LrC window and then nothing. No error message

I don't think this is what causes LrC not to open, but photos should not be in the same folder as the catalog, they should be in a separate folder.

Try creating a new catalog. Since you cannot launch LrC, press and hold the Option key, then click the shortcut to open LrC. In the dialog that appears, choose Create a new catalog.

Once the new (empty) catalog has opened, go to File > Import from another catalog, and navigate to your main catalog - the one you cannot open.
