In germany with US version of LR and no maps

Hi,

Trying to get maps to show in LR 7.3.1 while I'm traveling in Europe but map module just shows blank screen (no messages).  Map type is hybrid, map zoom is in the middle. no track log selected, etc.  Tried typing a place name (Germany) in search field but also didn't show anything.

any help appreciated

The Map module uses Google Maps, Needs an internet connection to download maps from Google.

Yes, I have internet connection and can get to Google Maps through web browser (using Chrome or IE)

Update to 7.4 first. There was a problem with Maps the other day, but that should be solved. BTW, there is no “US version of Lightroom”, so don’t worry about that. That can not be the issue. There is only one version, that can be set to different languages in the preferences.

I tried it again this morning and it is OK now (still on 7.3) - so I guess there was some sort of "problem" with maps when I tried it yesterday.

The reason I mentioned the country was a thought that maybe the installation country might use a different URL to interface to Google Maps depending on country,  E.G., Maps.Google.DE instead of Maps.Google.Com and maybe maps.google.com is blocked from countries that have a local version.  But, I guess that was in incorrect idea.
