Hi,
I've been using Lightroom for serveral years now and for some unknown reason an issue has occured quite randomly for no reason when importing RAW files. On navigating to the folder containing the RAW files via the import box, no thumbnails previews are displayed (Build smart previews is clicked) and the 'Import' button is greyed out (im guessing cause theres not files to import). I have tried RAW file formats from both my Nikon (Z7) and Canon (5D) cameras. I also tried randomly import .jpgs to see if it was a RAW file issue and still no thumbnails displayed for any files format. I have tried changing the location of the RAW files from the external HD to laptop HD and the problem persists.
I deleted the app and reinstalled from the cloud, and still no joy, same thing happened. I am running the latest version of Lightroom, Camera RAW is upto date and both camera's are supported. I am using MacBook Pro on Big Sur, version 11.4.
I can view RAW files already imported into collections before this issue occured. I can alsoI can open the RAW files in photoshop no problem and but this doesn't solve my issue.
I recently used the tether feature for the first time ever on a shoot before this issue, . This maybe more a coincidence rather than related as i have tested the tether feature before ith no issue after.
Any help much appreciated people.
May thanks in advance.
Si 🙂

Please try this:
Click on COPY. (Yes, I know you want to do an ADD, but click on COPY anyway) Then makes ure the Destination panel is present, expanded and points to a folder that actually exists. (If it is not present, right-click on the "File Handling" and select Destination). Then click on ADD.

Please post your System Information as Lightroom Classic (LrC) reports it. In LrC click on Help, then System Info, then Copy. Paste that information into a reply. Please present all information from first line down to and including Plug-in Info. Info after Plug-in info can be cut as that is just so much dead space to us non-Techs.

Issue when Importing RAW Files to Collection
hmm, I forget if the OP can change the description in a discussion, but do you not mean Catalog, as opposed to Collection?
