I have lightroom  12.1 and in past few weeks my work has been extremely hard due to new issues which appeared after an update.

Issue 1 - When i import photos from camera, in the library the icons are greyed out, and if i have few photoshoots in the same day i must have a guess where the photos are so i cant see them, however latley there has been another issue which appeared, as photos seem to be mixing up and are not in the right order as i want to import them, and without seeing icons this is making my day2day wotk like extremely hard.

Another issue is when i finaly select photos which are getting imported now it takes 5 times longer for them to be transformed ( usually would take 20 minutes for a big-ish lbum to be ready now approximately 2-3 hours (sometimes longer ) also when i want to  export one photo , ( which i use as a preview for a client or just to post on socila media now Lightroom is not exporting them, i have to select few photos as one wont be downloaded.

Can you please urgently advise how can this be resolved.

All my apps are up to date/ my computer as well.

Thanks

The first thing that you should try is to switch off the GPU support from the Lightroom preferences and check if that helps to fix the issue.

Go to Lightroom > Preferences > Performance tab > Uncheck "Use Graphics Processor" > Restart Lightroom.

If Lightroom doesn't start correctly the please see "Solution 2" in the document behind the second link.

Another step is to try to reset the Lightroom preferences.

It's recommended to backup your preferences before you reset the preferences to the default settings:

The reason for the grey out thumbnails in the library could be an fualty monitor profile.

Please see here and check: How do I change my monitor profile to check whether it’s corrupted? | The Lightroom Queen
