Keyword hierarchy is not showing up

I have spent a lot of time over the last couple of years organizing my keywords in a more organized hierarchy in my keyword list.  Sometime recently, that hierarchy has disappeared.  My keyword list showing now is much smaller without any nesting, but when I click on an image, all of the keywords assigned to it are showing up in the keyword tags window, so the keywords themselves have not disappeared.  How do I get my hierarchy list back?

Please post a screenshot that includes the Keywording panel and Keyword List panel, so we can see what you're seeing.

Are you talking about the Keyword List panel on the right? Or are you talking about how the keywords appear in the Filter Bar at the top? Or something else?
