This morning (Jan 22) I tried to open LR. Wouldn't work. I shut down my computer and reopened LR, received a notice that it was upgrading my Catalog. When LR opened, it looked different and most of my photos are missing. If I locate a Windows folder, I can ask LR to sync and it imports the original images and their Exported (edited) versions. The Catalog does NOT show that the originals were edited nor the adjustments made to them. It does NOT retain the settings I had in the previous Catalog. Dialog boxes are showing up treating me like I've never been here before! THIS UPDATE RUINS EVERYTHING. PLEASE PROVIDE INSTRUCTIONS FOR A FIX AND AN UPDATE TO THIS NEAR DISASTER!

Apparently LrC upgraded the wrong catalog. The way to fix that is to search your drive for all .lrcat files. Double click on the one with the next to latest date. LrC will upgrade that one and it should be the correct one. If not, have LrC upgrade all the catalogs you find until you get the correct one. At that time, you can tell LrC in the Prerferences -> General - Default Catalog space to always use that catalog

Thank you very much. Panic subsiding. At first, I couldn't find the old catalogs at all for some reason. It seems I have all back though I will apparently have to reset my catalog views.
