Lightroom 14.2 will not respond.

I have installed version 14.2. As soon as I press any keyboard button or click the mouse I get a message to say Lightroom is not responding. The screen then freezes. I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling it but this did not work either. I can get it to work if I return it to version 13.1.1.

I don't know if it is connected by I had a Topaz AI plug in and external editor plug in which should automatically show up on Lightroom. They are no longer there either.

I am using a Windows 11 computer.

in the future, to find the best place to post your message, use the list here, https://community.adobe.com/

p.s. i don't think the adobe website, and forums in particular, are easy to navigate, so don't spend a lot of time searching that forum list. do your best and we'll move the post (like this one has already been moved) if it helps you get responses.

Hey, @MR GARY30218974fve2. Welcome to the Lightroom Classic. I'll help you figure this out.

In addition to Lightroom freezing, check the Task Manager (Windows) Processes for unexpected read/write operations.

To begin troubleshooting, test some variables like:

  • Unplug any external peripherals & use wired input devices.
  • Could you unplug external drives?
  • Temporarily, unplug extra displays & only keep one active at a time.

Also, if this issue has started since installing the plugin, try uninstalling it once from the machine and checking how it goes.

Let me know how it goes. Thanks!
