Lightroom 4.0 quits unexpectedly

Hello,

 

Whenever I open lightroom the following message appears and the application quits:

I tried reinstalling the software using the CD I bought some years ago but that doesn't work.

There may be no answer for your problem.

You are 'swimming against the tide' with a very old version of Lightroom.
