Community Beginner ,

Lightroom AI masking does not identify subject, background or people.  In the below simple test picture, AI mask selects a rectangle around the subject, instead of selecting the subject.

That's not a reliable way to check. Microsoft can be months behind on that. Go to the AMD web site and get the latest driver.

Check with AMD to verify that you have the latest driver for your video card.

You’re a genius.  AMD had a driver detection and autoupdate software (took 20 min to download) which installed a new driver and now Lightroom AI masking is working.  First day making the switch to Lirghtroom, so I really appreciate the help getting me started in the right dirction.

I'm happy to hear it worked for you. So many display related issues in LrC are related the to GU driver being out of date or corrupted.
