Lightroom Albums Syncing with Random Images

Hey y'all,

For some reason when I tried to sync 3 new albums from 3 recent photoshoots today between my LR classic on my desktop (where the images were originally uploaded and albums were originally created) and my LR on my laptop, the albums are syncing with a mixture of the correct images for those albums and totally random images that were uploaded months ago from a variety of different albums. I've attached a picture where I circled the random images - the red circles are from one photoshot/album and the green ones are from another photoshoot/album, both from several months ago.

I tried chatting with an adobe agent who suggest I try optimizing the catalog and creating a new catalog to which I import the old catalog but neither fixed the issue.

Has anyone ever expierenced this issue before/know how to remedy it?

Please give more details, including version numbers (not words like 'latest' or 'up to date') of Lightroom Classic and your OS. There was such an issue with syncing with Lightroom Classic 13.2 if I remember correctly.

If it helps - here is a screen recording of what is happening. The pictures I'm clicking on are the one's that shouldn't be in that collection/album. When I click on them in the "Develop" tab, they'll quickly switch to the correct photo, but when I move back to the "Library" tab, they switch right back to the random photo. I've also discovered that if I go to the collection originally containing the photos that don't belong, that collection now contains photos from the new collection - like these images have been swapped. This is happening accross/between several collections.

I've now tried deleting one of my newly imported collections from my desktop computer LR (where they were originally uploaded) - completely removing the images from the collection and all synced images, then deleting the images from my computer altogether. Then I reuploaded them from my memory card to my computer, and again into LR, creating a new collection. Even after doing this, when this collection syncs with my laptop LR (both LR Classic) it's continued to sync the same way, switching images between collections.

I've also tried deleting and reinstalling the LR apps on both computers and rebuilding the sync data.

Nothing is working!

Did you delete any images from that collection and restored it from trash from LrD or LrWeb ?
Just wanted to know more details on whther deleting and restoring has any role to play in this issue.

Thanks

So far I haven't ever restored any deleted images from LrD or LrWeb. If I've ever decided I needed an image that I'd previously deleted, I've reimported it from my computer or external hard drives.

I'm actually almost certain I just solved the mystery. All the images from last 3 photoshoot sessions I've uploaded to Lr have had names assigned to them by my memory cards that are duplicates from previous sessions I uploaded several months ago. For example I now have 2 different images called 7W2A7024.CR3 uploaded to Lr. These are the images that have been getting mixed around so I'm sure this is the cause of the problem.  Now I just need to find a way to re-name batch rename all my images in a way that can be unique to each session before importing them to Lr. Any suggestions on how to do that?
