Lightroom API: Create a new catalog

Hello! 

We are trying to automate some processes and and I would like to know whether it is possible to create a new catalog using the Lightroom API.

Not directly.  A script running outside of LR could create a new catalog by copying an existing catalog folder, and it could open LR on that catalog with these commands:

Mac:

open "path-to-lrcat-file"

Windows:

start "path-to-lightroom.exe" "path-to-lrcat-file"
