Lightroom applying a preset when it brings an image back from editing in photoshop

Hi guys,

If I apply a preset in lightroom and make my adjustments, and then right click and edit in photoshop all worked great. I saved the image and the edited copy shows up in lightroom like normal.

I haven't changed any settings, but now once I save the image in photoshop, the copy shows up in lightroom BUT it is re-applying the same preset again over the photoshop edited image?

I have checked the lightroom import settings just incase, and have reset Photoshop preferences.

It doesn't make a difference how I save and exit photoshop, the same thing happens.

Is there a setting I have missed?

What is the file type? If you send a raw file to Photoshop, then what is returned is a tiff or psd copy, and Lightroom Classic should not re-apply anything to that copy. If you send a tiff or psd to Photoshop, then you will be asked how you want to send it. If you choose 'Edit Original', then you will open the unedited original in Photoshop. On return in Lightroom, because this is still the original, the edits will still be applied. That may look like Lightroom applied the preset again, but it is actually that the preset is still applied.
