Trying to open my only LR CC catalog and I get this message:

Capture adobe.GIF

I tried opening up a different catalog and get this: Capture adobe 2.GIF

Since I want to keep my catalog up to date I try to open the most recent and I'm back to the previous message.

Very confusing as what to do.

It appears that your most recent catalog is Lightroom Catalog-3-v10 (upgraded for v10)

This is the Catalog giving the message- "...another application has it opened"

The message is cryptic. What it really means is that Lightroom-Classic was not closed down correctly on the previous occasion it was used and it left behind a "Lock" file. It will be called {Lightroom Catalog-3-v10.LRCAT.LOCK}.

Find this '.LOCK' file with the File Browser and delete it.

Do NOT delete the Catalog {Lightroom Catalog-3

Do NOT delete the Catalog {Lightroom Catalog-3-v10.LRCAT} file!

Normally this '.LOCK' file only exists when LrC is running and disappears when LrC is closed.

See the Adobe Help page here-

LOCK FILE DELETION - LR-CLASSIC

Much appreciated. Took some doing to find the LOC file. (It was in a Users subdirectory- a couple levels deep.)

I deleted the file and LrCC opened right up.
