Hi everyone,

when lauching lightroom 10.1.1 I have the following message:
see 'error.jpg' in attachment.
After deactivate the graphics card in the device manager, lightroom starts normally. When I reactivate the card the problem occurs.
Here is LR's error report:
See 'Report_Error.pdf' in attachment.
Here is my configuration:
Windows 10 Professional ver. 19042.746
Intel I7-8700k 32Gb ram
Nvidia geforce RTX 2080 SUPER 8Gb with driver up to date.

Any ideas.
Thank you

Hi,

We're sorry about the trouble with Lightroom Classic. Would you mind checking if you're using the game ready drivers of the studio drivers? As per the report you've shared the drivers date seems to be from December 2020 & Nvidia seems to have released an update in Jan 2021 which you can check out on their website.

You can also try uninstalling the drivers completely & then re-installing them to check if that helps.

If the issue persists, you can try to reset the preferences of Lightroom using the steps mentioned here: https://adobe.ly/2JSym5e

Please backup your presets prior to resetting the preferences.

Let us know how it goes!

Regards,

Nikunj

Hi,

Thank you for your quick response.

I have tried both versions of the nvidia driver and restart pc with no results.

Also tried reset preferences with no results.

Also tried uninstall then reinstall LrC with no results.

I'll try to completely uninstall then reinstall the nvidia driver.

To be continued next season...

Regards.

Jean-Luc

Please do not attach files. Most members absolutely refuse to open attachments. It is a trust issue. Instead use the Insert Photo button.

Actually, in the case of a Crash Report, copy and paste that into a reply, that way members can copy and paste lines as to do a search.

Ok, so I looked. Pertinent parts in the Crash Report:

<crash exception="EXCEPTION_ACCESS_VIOLATION" exceptionCode="0xc0000005"
instruction="0x00007FFE58D7BEE7">

and

<stackStatement index="0" address="0x00007FFE58D7BEE7"
symbolname="NVENCODEAPI_Thunk"/>

Google on:

and

NVENCODEAPI Thunk

Please post your System Information as Lightroom Classic (LrC) reports it. In LrC click on Help, then System Info, then Copy. Paste that information into a reply. Please present all information from first line down to and including Plug-in Info. Info after Plug-in info can be cut as that is just so much dead space to us non-Techs.

Roll Back your LrC back to v10.0. Mostly a massive MAC issue, a couple of Windows members with LrC v10.1 issues

(and v10.1.1 only fixed one problem)

Hi,

Same message with LrC 10.0

Also I have uninstall the update 20H2 of windows 10 with same results.

Also uninstall completely and reinstall nvidia drivers with same results.

I have launch LrC (with display card disable of course) and create a new catalog with the hope that maybe there was a bug in the catalog but that's not the problem.

very disappointing with this message...
