Using Windows 10 19042.1165 Lightroom Classic 10.4 freezes if you apply either a radial filter or gradient filter, select a luminance range mask, click the show luminance check box and then click on the filter tool to close the tool.  In other words closing the filter tool with the mask displayed will cause Lightroom Classic to freeze.  Good hunting...

Please post your System Information as Lightroom Classic (LrC) reports it. In LrC click on Help, then System Info, then Copy. Paste that information into a reply. Please present all information from first line down to and including Plug-in Info. Info after Plug-in info can be cut as that is just so much dead space to us non-Techs.

Also, in preferences, use of graphics processor on or off? And if on, is it Automatic, or did you force it?

So not 4K and beyond, the option to use Graphics Processor may not present any benefit, it may in fact hurt performance with some GPU's

Graphics Processor Info:
DirectX: NVIDIA Quadro K4000 (27.21.14.5239)

Not immediately familiar if a Quadro would be involved with the option to use Graphics Processor, sub 4K would degrade performance, had it been a GeForce, say 800 series or older, then yes. Hmm, but the K4000, release date back in 2013, farly old, consider turning use graphics processor off.

So, Auto, not forcing the issue, A-Ok.

Graphics Processor Info:

So, driver v452.39. per NVIDIA website, current is v471.68, released 8/10/2021, you may want to update that, not familiar with Quadro install options, in GeForce, I would advise to select custom install type as to force a clean install.

This also happens to me on Mac Lightroom Classic 10.4 on my Mac Mini M1. Radial gradients cause Lightroom Classic to freeze and I have to force quit. Graphics Processor is set to off
