Lightroom Classic 11 not allowing me to import arw files now

This is really bad... just upgraded to LR Classic 11 and suddenly I can't import my Sony A7SIII ARW files into Lightroom (they are all grayed out).  Now I'm scrambling to find a backup solution as I'm about to see my business grind to a halt.

I hope I'm missing something, can someone please advise me on the situation.  Is this user error, or has 11 introduced a very serious bug?

Thank you.

There is no conspirary going on. Greyed out files at import normally means that Lightroom thinks that the images have already been imported. How do you import? From a local folder or from a memory card?

Consider resetting the preference file. Remember many settings may revert to defaults.

That didn't work, but thank you for that suggestion.  I have turned to Adobe Camera Raw which is functionally very similar to Lightroom Classic now.  But I simply don't know, maybe this was part of their grand plan, to herd all the raw users to that app, but if so it would have been nice for them to warn their paying customers instead of dropping such an unpleasant surprise.

Hi John,

Thanks, I'm using a local folder.  Maybe you're on to something, but wouldn't have resetting all my preferences (per GoldingD above) eliminated that possibility?

Hi John,

Following up... I tested your theory and moved the suspect files to another location and renamed them just to be sure and voila'...  life is good.

You solved my problem and I not only thank you, but I apologize for the earlier overreaction as I was in a panic.

Eric
