Since Lightroom Classic upgraded to the latest version last week, it's constantly crashing while I'm trying to edit or export. Is anyone else having this issue?

We’ve reviewed the email address you use with this forum and find no crash reports in our system.

Did you see a crash dialog?

Do you use a different email address when filling out the crash report?

Was the crash dialog Adobe’s? Microsoft’s?

Hi Rikk. Thank you.

That's strange because it crashed multiple times and I selected Send Report each time it popped up.

The last few times I didn't get a crash dialog box at all. The whole program just froze. and I had to just shut it down. It keeps freezing everytime I try to export my photos.

I believe it's the Adobe Crash dialog but I'm not sure. I just uninstalled the program to try and reinstall it but now it keeps failing to download.

@Mr. McDougall  I've located a total of four crash reports for you (2) are identical reports and then there are 2 more that are one-off crashes.  There are no other customers experiencing the same crash as you are. That usually points to a system-specific problem.

Recommendation:

  1.  Update your hardware drivers
  2.  Perform a Preference File Reset
  3.  Perform a clean reinstall.

This procedure works for both Lightroom Classic and Lightroom Desktop.

If you are using Lightroom Desktop it can change the location of your local storage. Please review this setting after resetting preferences.

Reset Procedure:

1. Close Lightroom.

2. Hold down [Alt/Opt]+[Shift] while restarting Lightroom.

3. Overwrite the Preferences when prompted by the dialog.

4. Close Lightroom.

5. Restart Lightroom.

Then

Clean Lightroom Install Procedure

Close Lightroom

Restart the computer

Use the Adobe Creative Cloud App to uninstall Lightroom

Restart the computer

Install Lightroom via the Creative Cloud App without launching any other programs.

Restart the computer

Launch Lightroom

Wait 5 minutes

Thank you Rikk. I just finished updating all of the drivers for my computer. It took a while but everything seems to be running smoothly now. Thank you again.
