With version |12.4 it seems to keep the folllowing EXIF data after editing in Developer,
but if I rename the file in Lightroom the following metadata get lost:

-ImageCount -AFMode -PictureMode -FilmMode -ImageStabilization -NoiseReduction -FujiFlashMode -DynamicRange -DynamicRangeSetting -FocusPixel -AutoBracketing -SequenceNumber -NumFaceElements -FaceElementTypes -AF-SPriority -AF-CPriority -AFCSetting -FacesDetected -FocusMode2 -FocusMode -BlurWarning -FocusWarning -ExposureWarning -DriveMode -SlowSync -ShutterType -ShootingMode

Hey @Ola28496117olqo! Welcome to the Lightroom Classic community. I'll need more details about your specific workflow to help you with this.

What specific FujiFilm camera's raw file are you working on? Do you find the missing metadata after you've exported the images?

Please share a few sample images that show the before & after.

Also, please consider updating Lightroom Classic to 12.5 via the Creative Cloud Desktop app.

Thanks! ^SK

Hey and thanks for answering me.

I have this problem with Fujifilm X-H1 and X-H2s, and also with the X10 with fewer metadata.
I work mostly with jpeg files, b8ut also seem to hawe the same problem with raw (RAF) files.

The the metadata os also missing in the source files when I check with ExifTool by Phil Harvey or the Fujifilm Toolkit for Lightroom.

I enclose 2 X-H2s files; one from the camera and one after editing and renaming in Lr.

Best regards
Ola Fjellheim

Thanks for sharing these. I've checked the images in Lightroom Classic & the Metadata standard EXIF metadata fields are identical for these images. I've done some test exports as well. As far as Lightroom is concerned, the workflow is as expected. Also, note that most third-party software won't honor non-standard EXIF XMP, ICC, or IPTC fields.

You can ensure that Lightroom Classic has 'All Metadata' selected in the Export window to ensure all the standard EXIF data is included in the export.

Thanks!
Sameer K

Hey,

When I use Lightroom Classic 12.4 to edit this picture (DSCF0564.jpg) the Fujifilm metadata is present,
but when I do a rename to "230903_H2s0564.jpg" the metadata I listed in my first mail is lost:
( ImageCount, AFMode, PictureMode, FilmMode ... etc).
Same result wnen I export.

These fields are all proprietary to Fujifilm, stored in the Makernotes metadata section of the file. Makernotes fields are non-standard and specific to each camera manufacturer.  When LR exports a photo, it does not preserve Makernotes.

However, the LR command Library > Rename Photo doesn't affect Makernotes. When I import your test photo DSCF0564.JPG to my LR 12.5 and rename it with this renaming preset, the Makernotes are preserved:

The metadata of the other sample photo you posted, 230903_H2s0564.JPG, was created by LR's Export, and it doesn't contain any Makernotes, as expected.
