Since I got the latest lightroom classic (13.2) update it's been very slow. I have smart previews enabled and increased Camera RAW cache. Until then, it was flying and now it takes me about 6-7 seconds to move from one photo to another. What could be wrong?

Likewise.
I have a PC with Windows 11, well above LR Classic spec, but since upgrading to 13.2 all actions have become far slower than previous versions.
For instance, sliders in develop, which were previously instant now lag, with no visible preview for several seconds.
CPU is approaching 100% whereas it rarely did pre v 13, little disc activity, 14GB used so 2GB free.
Simple activities are now painfully slow, even dragging the cropping tool is not realtime, which makes it unusable, suddenly jumping to a small crop than required.
Very frustrating when it was working so well.
No apparent background activities showing.
I have increased and cleared the cache.
All catalogues and previews are on M2 SSD, original raw on SATA SSD.
Why the change in responsiveness and usability Adobe?

The OP uses MACOS, you use Windows, LrC problems and solutions can be OS dependant. And solutions can have different paths and issues. For example whatever your GPU is, easier to fix on Windows than on MAC (where you need to wait for Apple to fix) . And other key difference's.
Please post your own Discussion, When you do, please include the system information as LrC reports it (info starting at first line down to and including plug-ins please)

Noted, thank you.
Windows 11 thread commenced.
It would seem that this is a platform independant issue with sluggishness if both Mac and Windows users are seeing this effect, which may point to something with the core coding, which one assumes is the same on both platforms.
Hopefully, the cause will be discovered, and the performance will return.
My only thought is whether, after the update, some background task is ongoing to update the cataolgue or previews, etc.?
