I have been using Lightoom Classic for several years with no problems. I am currently using version 13.4 on my Dell Laptop running Windows 11 and now cannot import any new mp4 video files. I uninstalled lightroom and started from scratch and tried importing all of my photos and mp4 files again.
It now fails to import any of my mp4 files that were previously imported with no problem. I also run Lightroom Classic on my Macbook Air and that imports all my videos with no problem. What is going on?

I have just discovered that if I change the file extension from mp4 to mts on all my video files they now import to Lightroom Classic with no errors! I have not carried out any video conversions, just changed the file extension. So why does Lightroom Classic not accept some video files with mpr4 extensions?

I can 't answer your question since I have never had problems importing MP4 files, but I have seen that LrC will not import MXF files. Also many MP4 files will import even if they were created with an unsupported codec, and they produce a good thumbnail, but if you play the clip it's an unviewable mess.

I am also having problems with MP4 files. They import without a problem, Thumbnails appear correctly and can be scrolled through when passing the cursor across them.
When they are played they are Green. Not just a green tint - they are all completely green!.
This also affects all MP4 Files previous input which have previously always played correctly.
I also have a problem with images appearing with incorrect colours in the 2nd Dispal - but only when the main window is in Develop Module. But that's a problem elsewhere, I do not want to hijack this thread.

Same here. Certain mp4 files are not getting imported. Dont know if its codec issue.

This thread relates to LrC 13.x. Since we're now at 14.3 and nearly a year on from when the thread started, then it's likely that your issue is unrelated. Please start a new thread and make sure you include:
1. The camera used to capture the videos
2. Your System Info. You can obtain this from the LrC Help > System Info menu item. Note the Copy button at top right corner of System Info dialog. Use this button to capture the information, then paste into your post.
