Lightroom Classic 13

Installed v 13 yesterday. After installation, I launched. On my first mouse click, LrC crashed. Relaunched with same result. I've uninstalled and reinstalled v 12. What now?

in the future, to find the best place to post your message, use the list here, https://community.adobe.com/

p.s. i don't think the adobe website, and forums in particular, are easy to navigate, so don't spend a lot of time searching that forum list. do your best and we'll move the post (like this one has already been moved) if it helps you get responses.

Be sure you have the latest driver direct from nVidia.com for that GPU. It's a very old one and there is not likely to be a driver that will work properly with this new software. Give the driver update a try anyway.

I did find a newer driver, but Photoshop 2024 is still flagging it because it doesn't support DirectX 12. Do you know if that's the problem with Lightroom Classic 13? I don't want to reinstall it if it won't work, because when you do that it uninstalls the previous version of LrC. Thanks for trying to help.

Hmm, not sure if that GPU should have been supportable at all in any LrC version in recent memory, perhaps not for several years.

Please post your System Information as Lightroom Classic (LrC) reports it. In LrC click on Help, then System Info, then Copy. Paste that information into a reply. Please present all information from first line down to and including Plug-in Info. Info after Plug-in info can be cut as that is just so much dead space to us non-Techs.

Mostly interested in those sections concerning the GPU.

LATEST

"DirectX: NVIDIA GeForce GT 740 (30.0.14.7444)"

That's a nine-year-old graphics processor, and Nvidia no longer provides updated drivers for it. You have the latest driver, which is two years old.

Try manually disabling LR's use of the graphics processor:
