Lightroom Classic 14.3.1 Sluggish Moving Images between Collections

Lightroom Classic is very sluggish when I create and move folders, image files, and images between collections. I'll move an image from one collection to another, and nothing happens—the image stays in the original collection. The same happens when I create a folder. Nothing happens, but after a period of time, the folder will appear. I don't know what's going on. It was working fine a few days ago, but yesterday and today it's not.

I attached my system info, but I've not changed anything with my system. I did have a problem with Lightroom crashing and becoming unresponsive. I reset my Lightroom preferences and optimized my catalog, which seems to have fixed the crashing issue, but now I have this problem.

Hey, @. Welcome to the Lightroom Community. Thanks for adding the system info; it helps.

Have you recently updated the OS? Does this happen with freshly imported images or after you've applied specific edits to the image, such as Lens Corrections?

As primary steps, try this:

  • Unplug additional displays & use only one by default.
  • Monitor the Activity Monitor for any unexpected read-and-write operations.
  • Are HDR previews enabled for the Library Module? You can disable HDR in the Library module by going to Lightroom Classic > Preferences > Performance > Uncheck 'HDR in Library'.
  • Check this detailed response from our Expert: https://adobe.ly/4g6Cb4j

Let me know how it goes. Thanks!

@Sameer K, Thanks for your reply. I did not have HDR Previews enabled. I do have three BenQ monitors. Two 1920x1080 and one 2560x1440, which is my primary monitor that I use for Lightroom and Photoshop. All three use DisplayPort. I'll try powering off the two 1920x1080 monitors and see how that works, but I need all three monitors for my work. My nVidia RTX 3060 Ti driver is up to date.
