Lightroom Classic AI masks to Photoshop

I am using Adobe Lightroom's AI masking to generate mattes for parts of my image. Is there a way to export them for Adobe Photoshop?

After generating them on a portrait I tried "edit in Photoshop", "open in Photoshop as smart object", exporting a PSD, a PNG and a Tiff. Nothing worked. I cannot belive this is not working so maybe I am doing something wrong here?

Lightroom Classic itself does not support what you're asking. However, @johnrellis who often helps on this forum has a developed a Lightroom plugin that does. You can find out more at below link.
