Lightroom Classic Crashing Repeatedly

I'm using the latest version of Lightroom Classic and up-to-date Windows 11 Business (23H2), with all drivers up to date and 40GB of RAM. Despite this, Lightroom has become completely unusable after the last few updates.

The program crashes every single time it tries to detect something, such as when detecting skies or people. This happens even when I simply hover over filters or use the masking tool, making it impossible to work with.

I've submitted countless crash reports, including my email address, but I've received no response from Adobe. This is extremely frustrating, especially for a paid product that I rely on for my work.

I've attached both the crash report and system report as text files to this post.

As I see in the System Info you don't use the recent version of Lightroom. It's 13.5 and you have installed 13.4. Do you have tried to update?

According to the crash report there seems to be a problem with the graphics card. Try is to switch off the GPU support from the Lightroom preferences and check if that helps to fix the issue. Go to Lightroom > Preferences > Performance tab > Un

Mixing LrC and OneDrive can be problematic. Use of the Windows System Folder (actually a Library) named Pictures is the normal location for most peoples LrC catalog. But it can be problematic when you have a MS account and as such MS OneDrive gets involved. This can also get fouled up in the Documents folder (Library), and the Desktop Library

According to the crash report there seems to be a problem with the graphics card. Try is to switch off the GPU support from the Lightroom preferences and check if that helps to fix the issue. Go to Lightroom > Preferences > Performance tab > Uncheck "Use Graphics Processor" > Restart Lightroom.

If Lightroom doesn't start correctly the please see "Solution 2" in the document behind the link below.

You have buldin a CPU with an internal grpahic processor, try to disabling the processor internal graphic card.

To disable the lesser of the two cards, use the Device Manager on Windows. In the Device Manager, right-click the card's name and choose Disable.

Maybe he wasn't, but I am. 13.5.1 with Camera Raw 16.5. Just updated. Crashes all the time. It has become unusable. In fact, I'd like my subscription extended for 2 weeks for every week it remains unusable. One week so far. Thanks.

  1. Bring up Windows File Explorer
  2. Create a folder that OneDrive will not (hopefully) get involved with. Name it whatever you want, MyPhotos, Lightroom, RubberDucky (anything other than Pictures).
  3. Copy your catalog to that folder.
  4. Double click on that catalog
  5. Repair the resultant missing folders/photos
  6. See if that catalog works better
