Now it has been 'downloading' for two days.
What is meant by the word "it"? Are you talking about slow downloading from iCloud? Are you talking about a slow function in Lightroom Classic? If so, what function? (Downloading what from where to where?)

The "it" is LightRoom.

Yes, the 'it' is Lrc. After adding the folder (with 60,000 photos) I started getting the messages shown in the attachement. The iCloud photos have already been downloaded to the C drive. I selected this C drive folder to add into Lrc. I am not sure what the messages mean when 'downloading'. The only file getting larger is 'Temporary Import Data.db' in Pictures/Lightroom (64,592 KB yesterday at 10:00 to now (15th at 10:00) at 167,572 KB).

The downloading stopped. I suspect it was related to adding a folder that was coordinated with iCloud. I copied the photos to another drive and did not see the download issue; but adding the folder still brought LRC to a standstill for a couple days until an out of memory error poped up.
