Lightroom Classic frequently crashes during basic photo operations

Lightroom Classic frequently crashes during basic photo operations, particularly when cropping or resizing images. This issue occurs almost daily, despite having a computer that meets and exceeds Adobe’s recommended system requirements for Lightroom’s normal operation. I have already submitted multiple crash reports through the built-in error reporting tool, but the problem persists.

Lightroom Classic ver.: 14.0.1. Release, Camera RAW 17.0, Build: 202410161356-30922cfc

My system specifications are as follows:

  • Processor: Intel 6-core CPU

  • Memory: 32 GB RAM

  • Graphics: NVIDIA GPU with 4 GB VRAM

  • Storage: 250 GB free space on internal HDD

  • Operating System: Windows 10, 64-bit]

  • I would appreciate any help in identifying the cause or receiving guidance on how to resolve this instability.

Storage: 250 GB free space on internal HDD
Library Path: H:\user\Pictures\Lightroom\Lightroom Catalog-v13-4.lrcat

So, that H drive, how large is it? 250 GB free does not sound as much. Typically looking for at least 20% free space, some say 25% before LrC starts to perform poorly.

Graphics Processor Info:
DirectX: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 750 (32.0.15.7283)
Init State: GPU for Display supported by default with image processing and export supported in the custom mode
User Preference: GPU for Image Processing Enabled
Enable HDR in Library: ON

I take it, with that ancient GPU, that most if not all AI features in LrC fail. I do not think the GPU, or the GPU driver is the issue, but look for more and more new features in LrC to fail (or not be available)

Thank you very much for your response and for pointing out the potential issues.

The H: drive where my Lightroom catalog is located is a 1 TB HDD with around 250 GB of free space, which is about 25% of the total capacity. I understand this should be sufficient, but I will monitor it closely to ensure it doesn’t drop further.

Regarding the graphics card: yes, I realize the NVIDIA GeForce GTX 750 is quite outdated, and I have already noticed that some AI-based features are either missing or not functioning properly. I would appreciate your recommendation on a modern GPU that would be well-suited for Lightroom Classic, especially to ensure compatibility with current and future AI features.

Thanks again for your assistance – I’m looking forward to your expert suggestion!
