This question/problem.
iMac with Catalina as OS.
I just rebuilt this machine with a new i7 CPU and a Samsung 870EVO SSD.
I have my OS on the 256GB PCIe/NVMe logic board drive along with all of my apps inc LR & PS.
I have also got the same system on the new SSD as well 2TB. Ya....I'm going after for major throughput.
Here's the deal. When I copy my library of images from my external drive, 108GB to the pictures folder, I get a dialog of that it has run out of space, they're by it must be copying to the 256GB NVMe. hhmmm. I AM booted from the NVMe positively, as I am going for that 3500 speed over the 560 of the SSD.....are you with me? I know....I am doing overkill, but since its there, I thought I'd make the 'best' of it....right. Can anyone tell me why/how to resolve to getting my images to the 2TB SSD. .........Wait....this just made me think. If I rebooted off the SSD...I could do it....but I did.......or did I?? I will unmount the NVMe and boot from another external and try copying via using its OS. .....Just a thought.......I think I just worked out....but........what if?? ......
