Can some one help me? As recommended by another community.adobe thread, I recently deleted the Previews.lrdata folder because it was taking over 400GB of my 500 GB space on my Mac. Since then, Lightroom Classis is running crazy slow. It takes minutes just to click and drag photos to a collection folder.

It takes time to rebuild. It will recreate previews as needed.

Is there anything I can do to speed up the process? Should I leave it running for a couple days?

Have you used the Build Standard-sized Preview command in Libary > Previews menu?

Lightroom Classic only builds previews if and when it needs them, so leaving it running for a couple of days won't do anything. It will just sit there idle. You could select all images and then choose Library - Previews - Build Standard-sized Previews' to force it to build previews, but that does not sound like a good idea if you deleted the previews because of disk space issues...

Turn on the Resource Monitor (or whatever it is called on a MAC) and see if any particular resource is being heavily used.
