Whenever I am using the masking tool in Lrc, the app become slow and would eventually crashes. It's been two days now I've been trying to mask a single photo, which is rather fustrating! How can I fix this. This is slowing down work flow way too much!

Review your system's specs and compare them to the minimum requirements document*: https://helpx.adobe.com/lightroom-classic/system-requirements.html

*last revised at the Max 2022 release.

Do you have sufficient GPU memory?

Try logging into another user account (you may need to make one), still crashing?

Try starting up in Safe mode (hold down Shift Key when booting), still crashing?

You might want to try running a free utility like Onyx: still crashing?

Most problems with AI masking are caused by older, buggy graphics drivers. Try updating your graphics driver by going directly to the manufacturer's web site:
https://helpx.adobe.com/lightroom-classic/kb/troubleshoot-gpu.html#solution-4

If that doesn't help, please copy/paste here the entire contents of the LR menu command Help > System Info -- that will let us see exactly which versions of hardware and software LR thinks you're running.

You're running LR under Rosetta emulation -- that has known issues with AI masking. Try running it without Rosetta, See here for how to do that:
