Lightroom Classic Keeps Crashing  when edilting. I can restart and LR and it will work for a while then crashes again.  Then again and again

My system
Windows 11 latest update
Ryzen 7 5800x8
Installed RAM 32.0 GB
Graphics card GeForce GTX 1050Ti
M.2 PCIE G3x4 NVME SSD

Things that I have done to stop the crashing.
Uninstall Lightroom cc and reinstalled four times with different versions
Optimize catalog
Tired different catalog
Ran LR CC without GPU turned on
Updates GPU drives
Reset Preferences
Checked for hardware issues and found CPU running a little hot.
Changed CPU cooler to a better cooler. CPU now runs in the green

So, you did have a heating issue. This can effect the GPU, this can effect LrC. so (despite in the grteen):

  • What about dust in the computer case. In the inlets, outlets
  • What about dust around the CPU. yes, you changed the cooler, so you probably dealt with that area.
  • What about dust around the GPU
  • What about dust at the PSU (often on the bottom, often overlooked)
  • Is the GPU properly seated in the expansion slot
  • Is the 12v power cable on the GPU properly connected, or is it loose
  • Is your GPU hot? (see link below)

While I had the case open I cleaned out dust around fans, GPU, CPU, and
vents, I also tried a different CPU a friend let me borrow. Still have the
crashing problem

Please post your System Information as Lightroom Classic (LrC) reports it. In LrC click on Help, then System Info, then Copy. Paste that information into a reply. Please present all information from first line down to and including Plug-in Info. Info after Plug-in info can be cut out as that is just so much dead space to us non-Techs and it takes up vast amounts of scroll space making the reply less readable and less likely that others will bother with your post.

System info as requested, I hope you find something that I can fix.
Restarting LrC every 15 minutes is getting old fast.
Thanks,
Glenn

Operating system: Windows 8 - Home Premium Edition

Yikes, even Microsoft admits Windows 8 was trash.

Was an earlier version of LrC working?

See:

currently LrC requires Windows 10 (version 22H2) or Windows 11 (version 21H2 or later)

You stated in your original post that you have Windows 11. but LrC thinks you have Windows 8. LrC gets that info from your OS, something may be wrong in the OS. Hopefully another member can reply with a solution to that.

This may be an old bug, it might not cause any issues in itself, Perhaps see:

In that discussion, scroll to the bottom.

Ans, actually, if you really had Windows 8, then the Adobe Creative Cloud Desktop App, should have refused to show you such an update to LrC.

On your Windows computer, what shows up in /Settings/About/  ??

As you can see my computer is using Windows 11! I have NEVER used windows 8 on any of my computer. I have no idea why LrC think I am using windows 8. Plus my issues with LrC just started a month ago. This makes no sense and is very frustrating!! LrC ceashes so much that it takes double the time to do my editing . Since being a Lrc user since 2008 I am finding it very discouraging that Adobe has not been able to help me. I know I am venting but I need LrC to work without crashing all the time. I have done nothing new to my computer before this issue popped up.

When was the last time you, or the computers OS, restarted the computer? Not a shutdown, but a restart. Just in case something is stuck in the Kernel, etc.

Since I hace been having this problem a lot of times LrC will not starteup after a crash unless I do a restart. So yes I have done many restarts.

Thanks

I just received a note from the community asking if my issues have been resolved. So I sent a note back explaining that no my issue has not been resolved. Then I got a note back from Adobe postmaster that reads

Delivery has failed to these recipients or groups:

Adobe Community Mailer (noreply@mail.community.adobe.com)

Your message couldn't be delivered to the recipient because you don't have permission to send to it.

Ask the recipient's email admin to add you to the accept list for the recipient.

For more information, see DSN 5.7.129 Errors in Exchange Online and Office 365.

Why asked me if I could not send a reply back!

Here is the note I sent ...

No, I am still having the same problem and it seems to be getting worse. I was editing yesterday and LrC crashed on me about every ten minutes even after I restarted my computer. I sent all of my computer, software information that you asked for and steps that  I have already taken to try and fix my problem to you. I am not sure what else to do to fix my issues. I will admit that I am disappointed that Adobe has not been able to help me so far. How can I take my problem to the next level because this level is not working for me.

Please advise,
Glenn
