A few times over the years I have attempted to use my iPad to upload photos while traveling, do some preliminary editing and have them sync to Lightroom Classic on my iMac when I'm. home. I think I finally have a process that works, but had synced photos in LR Classic and in the Cloud that need to be cleaned up. Deleting synced photos causes me much anxiety as I fear they'll just all disappear from my catalog, but I carefully followed the steps that I found here on another post and I seem to have been successful in moving the date folders in the Catalog list (left column) from the sync/Cloud into my catalog folders, deleted the photos from All Synced Photos (after verifying that they are in my catalog), and deleting photos from the collections in "From Lightroom" under the Collections tab, and deleting those collections. The majority of the photos are now gone from the Adobe Cloud also (151 MB left that I can't figure out how to see). However, everything is still on my iPad in the Lightroom app. I had paused syncing toward the end of my trip when i started getting warnings about running our of space. What should my next steps be? Is it as simple as enabling syncing again on my iPad in the LR app? I don't want all those photos to appear again in LR Classic on my iMac. Or do I have to do more manual deleting from LR app on my iPad?
Also, I see that iPhone photos are appearing in the LR app on my iPad. How do I turn that syncing on/off? Typically i do not want my iPhone photos going to the LR app (if I want them in LR Classic I just export from Photos and import into LR Classic), but it was handy having them in the app during my trip, keeping everything together.
Thank you! I'm taking another short trip soon and I'd like to get this travel process (and understanding syncing better) nailed down.
