VG, Philipp

First a copy of your screen capture, with annotations to bring up points and ask questions:

Second, I assume based on your screen ca[pture that the options Show Photos in Subfolders is on.

Hi and thank you for your answer. The option for the subfolders was and is turned on. The first folder also works with it. The strange thing is that until recently I was working normally with the images in Lightroom and suddenly many images are no longer displayed in the folders. It's as if something had changed in the settings without me having done anything. The external hard drive also works without any problems and all the pictures are displayed there normally. Could it have something to do with the catalogue?

If I want to synchronise one of the empty folders, the pictures are also shown in the correct number. But then nothing can be seen in the overview and there is nothing to import

and then you get this message that no images were found to import.

In that screenshot, bottom right corner, I am not at all aware of what that is. I took a copy of your screenshot and annotated that area in question with a red oval, as seen below:

I notice in one of your screenshots, during an import, you selected ADD . After all, that is what you wanted to do, Add some photos to the catalog without moving them.

Ok, a "what If" to accomplish. Sometimes in the Import process, the destination gets fouled up. Typically the destination is whatever was selected on a previous import. If that destination was eliminated/renamed/etc, and as such is not valid, the import process can fail. Now one would think that would only effect COPY, Copy as DNG, not Add, after-all  the destination is not selectable in Add. BUt, and never seen as a bug, if that situation occurs (previous destination invalid) the Add import can fail without an error. Even though it should not matter at all.

Ok, enough bloviating.

For a test, try to import one photo via Copy, check/validate the destnating, and accomplish that one import. If that works, then try the import via Add.

Unfortunately, that didn't work out. So I copied a picture from one of the folders that did not appear and put it in another folder. Lightroom didn't recognise it there either.
My other idea was to load the pictures that were missing from an older catalogue into the current catalogue, related to your other answer. Unfortunately, this did not work either.
A test was now, if I delete a folder with not displayed pictures and import it again, Lightroom recognises the pictures.
I only do this because I already have a collection of selected pictures that I don't want to select again. It sounds to me like there was some kind of error when saving the catalogues.
Another point I don't understand is that the images from the folders without images are pale when importing (setting that all images are visible & see screenshot).

So, in your sceenshot, that I have copy'd, and annotated, and pasted into this reply, You have the option to not show suspected duplicates (Don't Import Suspected Duplicates). And those grayed out images, are what LrC thinks are in fact already imported.

I suspect you have a Folders issue. Perhaps an errant folder, perhaps a duplicate folder, or perhaps what is called the  Capitalization Error.

One thing to look for, is to select All Photographs, top left of the Library Module, in the Catalog Panel, and view all the photos in a grid view, look for the image(s) in question, then right click on one, and select "Go to Folder in Library" (MACOS vs WINOS wording may vary)\

And you would hopefully see what folder that is in

Note, I will search for a posting on the Captivation error and reply . Somehow i suspect that.separately

One question that should have been asked, LrC v13.0.1, is this an update from LrC v13.0, or did you upgrade from LrC v12.5?

If you upgraded, did LrC perhaps upgrade the wrong catalog? Have you checked for a better catalog, your actual previous catalog.

If you updated, did LrC v13.0 work for this catalog? Or were these issues occurring then?
