I am using a 2017 iMac 3.4 GHz Quad-Core Intel Core i5

8 GB 2400 MHz DDR4

Running on MacOS Ventura Version 13.7.4

same error occurs on my MacBook Pro (2021)

16 GB

Running on Sequoia 15.3.1

I recently updated both computers and lightroom classic keeps crashing and now it will not open completely. What am I doing wrong? No error message just spinning wheel of death or just no response from the app. I already restarted the computers, uninstalled the app, restarted computers, reinstalled via CC app, restarted computers, reopened lightroom and waited with still no response. Please help! TIA!

lightroom classic keeps crashing

'Of course the bigger question is why crashing.

But, for starters, as the catalog was not closed properly, the lock file would have not been deleted, have you deleted the errant lock file before trying to start LrC?

Oh, and is this the same catalog being used on both MACs?

Hi thank you!

The catalogs I tried were different on both computers. Even when I just launch LrC by launching the app itself, it never loads.

Something like this happened to me recently. Very similar symptoms. It turned out that I was trying to load a corrupted catalog. The catalog had been corrupted by bad RAM in the new build I had just finished. I unzipped the most recent backup, renamed the bad catalog, the copied the unzipped backup to the Lightroom Classic folder and it started right up.

Hi thank you! Would it work if you just tried to open a brand new session/catalog?

It won't hurt to give that a try. If you open LRC while holding the Ctl key (Win) it will give you the option of creating a new catalog.

I did not need to do that, I needed my main catalog.
