My four year old iMac 27" had almost filled the hard disk with my Lightroom Classic photos.
Therefore I installed the Mac OS on an external SSD, together with all applications, to free space up. That worked well and the iMac is quicker and more effective,
Unfortunately, when I open Lightroom Classic all the 131,000 photos look like they are there and in the right folders and years. But the thumbnail doesn't show the image and the image won't open.
Can anyone help me with a suggestion as to the problem?
Thank you
Stephen

Are there question mark icons on the folders, or exclamation point icons on the photos?

The photos have a blank frame and an exclamation mark, I just noticed the folders in the side bar have question marks. I renamed catalogue to July 2023 but other than that no other change.
I have backed the photos up to a 6TB hard drive, but if I open that, same result.

Fix the question marks by following these instructions: www.computer-darkroom.com/lr2_find_folder/find-folder.htm
