When exporting the edited RAW photos, Lighroom crashes. The computer will restart (mac OS Catalina). Only about ten pictures are exported as JPG and then the computer crashes. This happens with Lightroom version 11.1. but also with version 11.0.1

When the computer crashes and restarts while doing CPU intensive tasks, like exporting, this is likely a crash because your computer has overheated and shut down. Check your cooling system to make sure all components are working properly. Vaccuum out the case and all ventilation holes. Make sure your ventilation holes are not blocked by a barrier such as a wall or furniture.

Hi there,

We're sorry about the crash issue experienced in Lightroom Classic,

Since when are you seeing this issue and is it just with these 2 versions? Is this happening with just JPG exports or any type of export? Do you see any error message?

Would you mind updating your macOS to the latest version and see if that works?

Also check this troubleshooting article: https://helpx.adobe.com/in/lightroom-classic/kb/lightroom-basic-troubleshooting-fix-most-issues.html

Let us know how it goes.

Regards,

Ranjisha

Yes, exactly. Ligtroom starts exporting images. Then you can hear the fan spinning up and after a few minutes it crashes. The notebook is on a table. The fan should actually be free. Can be set in Lightroom. that he works with less power when exporting to get around that?

You have to identify the problem in your cooling system (fan not working, blocked vents, dust in the case, all of these) and then fix the problem.

Here is one user's actual experience providing additional cooling: https://www.dpreview.com/forums/post/65523199
