Lightroom Classic randomly deleted exported files

Hello,

today I exported RAWs from 2 different directories to the same 3rd directory running 2 exports at the same time. I was exporting to JPEGs with the option "choose a new name for the exported file" selected in case of naming conflicts (I indeed had some naming conflicts).
At the end of the export half of the exported JPEGs where in the recycle bin, instead of being in the destination directory. It looked like LR deleted the files with duplicated names, instead of assigning them new names.
Any ideas what the problem may be here? I often export files with duplicated names in parallel, so I do not want this issues to repeat

I am on WIndows 11, LR classic release 13.1

Thanks!

2. Odd. I would think that LrC would not send duplicates to the recycle bin without your intervention. And when you post that export dialog, you may notice that doing so is not one of the options.

Perhaps your workflow is causing this, perhaps not. But a alternate workflow (several ways):

  • Select the photos you want to export, apply a color label to them, Filter on that color label, select all those photos. Accomplish the export (one export)
  • Alternate. Select the photos you want to export, Flag them as you see fit (with a flag not previously in affect). Filter on that flag, Select all those photos, Accomplish the export (one export)
  • Alternate, rate them? No that does not track, Oh it could work, but just no.
  • Alternate, Add the photos you want to export to a Collection that you create. Select the Collection, export....

Point being to not attempt concurrent exports.
