Lightroom Classic , secondary screen is black in zoom

Explorer ,
Dec 22, 2023 Dec 22, 2023

Good morning.
I wanted to test if my PC could be compatible with Lightroom Classic 2024 (I still use LR 6!). After installation, it works fine and does not display any errors.
In use, I have a problem with the secondary screen. The standard size display works but if I want to zoom (or 1:1) there is a dynamic zoom effect then the image becomes a black screen. If I click on areas I see small image fragments which disappear immediately. On the other hand, everything works perfectly on the main screen (development window).
I checked the configurations required by Adobe, the processor, windows, memory, video card, drivers, etc., are largely compatible.
Anyone know this problem and have an idea to fix it? THANKS.
"Joyeux noël!"

Please do the LR menu command Help > System Info and copy/paste the entire contents here so we can see exactly which versions of hardware and software LR thinks you're running and important LR options that are set.

Ok, that Lr6.14 Sys Info is lacking in regards to the GPU info (it was not a big issue back then, it is now), So, perhaps from your NVIDIA Control Panel.

You probably have access on your computer to the NVIDIA Control panel. Bring that up, click on Help, click on System Information, note the driver version, and Dedicated Video Memory. What are those??

So a summary on your computers system info

  • OS:   Windows 10 Business Edition, build 19045 (Version 22H2) up to date for Windows 10, and supported in LrC
  • CPU: 3.1 GHz (fast enough)
  • RAM:  16 GB (above minimum, could be better, bur will work)
  • GPU: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1060 6GB GDDR5 VRAM, Driver version: 546.33. GPU old but still supported by NVIDIA so drivers are updated, driver is up to date, VRAM better than minimum required but will not support full GPU acceleration, I think it will support AI but may be slow especially in AI Denoise. Not sure how well dual monitors will be supported, might slow down a bit. GPU does support DirectX10.
  • Displays : 1) 1920x1080, 2) 1920x1080, Better than minimum requirement.

Good morning. If I understood correctly, I will not avoid buying another graphics card if I want to take advantage of the new features linked to AI in LR as in Photoshop. But there is something I don't quite understand. I thought that AI actions were transferred to Adobe servers. So why do we need a much more powerful graphics card? Do calculations also happen locally?
Thank you for your explanations.

Good morning. Thank you for taking care of my problem. I think I'll wait a month or two until there are some updates. We never know!
Happy end of the year.
