I've had LRC installed on my laptop for approxamitely the past year and have, until recently, had no problems. Over the past month LRC has become extremely erratic. Among the irregularities are: the screen will turn black while I'm working coming back after a few seconds; a lack of responsiveness when trying to use tools; and a loss of presets. Just to clarify, this problem is localized to LRC, I've had no other issues with any other program on my Windows laptop (HP Pavillion Intel Core i7, 16 GB RAM), and my virus software is up-to-date with a very recent full disc scan. I'm contemplating uninstalling and reinstalling LRC, but I'm not sure if this will make the problem better or worse. Of greatest concern is I'm not sure how this will affect the linked volumes of my work. Any advice or guidance is greatly appreciated.

Hi,
We're sorry about the trouble with Lightroom Classic. Would you mind telling us which version of Lightroom Classic are you using? Please ensure you have all available Windows updates installed on the computer.
You can try disabling the option to Use Graphics Processor from Lightroom Classic by going to Preferences, then Performance. Once done, quit & relaunch Lightroom Classic to check if it helps.
If the issue persists, you can try to reset the preferences of Lightroom using the steps mentioned here: https://adobe.ly/2JSym5e
Please backup your presets prior to resetting the preferences.
Let us know how it goes!
Regards,
Nikunj

Please post your System Information as Lightroom Classic (LrC) reports it. In LrC click on Help, then System Info, then Copy. Paste that information into a reply. Please present all information from first line down to and including Plug-in Info. Info after Plug-in info can be cut as that is just so much dead space to us non-Techs.

Your graphics driver is not up to date.
Try installing the latest version, you can download it here:
https://www.nvidia.com/Download/driverResults.aspx/176524/en-us
And for the record, reinstalling is not likely to fix the issue.

Also
Displays: 1) 1920x1080
Very unlikely that the option to use Graphics Processor will hel sub 4K rig, So if on, turn off.
Also, if you want it on, select Automatic, if that results in Basic Acceleration, do not try to fice it via Custom.

Lack of responsiveness when doing what actions? Lack of responsiveness using what tools?
Of greatest concern is I'm not sure how this will affect the linked volumes of my work.
It shouldn't have any effect on your already completed work. But ... you do have backups of everything, don't you?
